Overseas TV program introduces Japanese food
TV channel: Channel 8 of MediaCorp TV Singapore
Program introduction:
"Food Source" is a new food program that aired on MediaCorp TV's Channel 8 from the second quarter of 2010.
"Food Source" focused on high quality ingredients that go onto dinner plates of discerning diners and the programme takes an in-depth look at where these ingredients come from, how they are farmed, caught or made and how they are prepared for consumption.
In their quest for the best ingredients, the programme crew visited Kagoshima prefecture in southwestern Japan. There, they got on a boat carrying tons of bonito, visited a beef processing plant that exports wagyu beef of the highest grade, witnessed how shochu is made, and also stopped by a mikan orange farm for sweet delights.
The episode aired in a one time, 60-minute segment.
