Notice of Reviewing Japanese Agricultural Standard (JAS) and Quality Labeling Standard

MAFF will review the following Japanese Agricultural Standard (JAS) and Quality Labeling
Standard. Those who are interested in the reviewing process may provide questions and/or
comments to the Labeling and Standards Division, Food Safety and Consumer Affairs Bureau of
MAFF, no later than April 4th, 2008. 

 

1. Scope of review

     Japanese Agricultural Standard for:
       a. Canned and bottled agricultural products;
       b. Canned and bottled livestock products;
       c. Canned and bottled marine products;
       d. Pressed ham;
       e. Sausage;
       f. Mixed sausage;
       g. Hamburger patty;
       h. Chilled hamburger steak;
       i. Chilled meatball;
       j. Instant noodles;
       k. Raw type instant noodles;
       l. Bread crumb;
       m. Dressing;
       n. Flavored seasoning;
       o. Dehydrated soup;
       p. Worcester sauce;
       q. Margarines; and
       r. Prepared frozen food.

 

 

   Quality Labeling Standard for:
      a. Pressed ham;
      b. Mixed pressed ham;
      c. Sausage;
      d. Mixed sausage;
      e. Fish ham and fish sausage;
      f. Specially packed fish sausage;
     g. Flavored fish sausage; and
     h. Dressing and Dressing type seasoning.  

        

2. Presentation of drafts

     Drafts will be presented at the Subcommittee of the JAS Council.

3. Public hearing

     Public hearings will be held at the Subcommittee of the JAS Council.

     April 2008
