Statistical Survey on Farm Management and Economy

Statistics of Individual Farm Management and Economy by Farming Type in 2007 (Paddy field farming)

[Outline of the Survey Results]

The agricultural gross income of paddy field farmers on national average per commercial farm household in 2007 was 1.84 million yen, 1.3% increase from the previous year.
On the other hand, the agricultural expenditure was 1.47million yen, 2.7% increase from the previous year.
Consequently, the agricultural income was 0.37 million yen, a decrease of 3.6% from the previous year.

[The agricultural income on business farm household was 3.37 million yen, an increase of 3.3% from the previous year, due to expansion of its business scale exceeding that of commercial farm household.]

The agricultural income of upland field farming on national average per commercial farm household in 2007 was 2.42 million yen, 1.5% decrease from the previous year.

[The agricultural income on business farm household was 5.59 million yen, 0.2% increase from the previous year, due to expansion of its business exceeding that of commercial farm household.]

(Vegetable/Fruits and Nuts/Flower Farming Management)

[Outline of the Survey Results]

  1. The agricultural gross income of vegetable farmers on national average per commercial household in 2007 was 4.38 million yen for open-field vegetables, and 9.47 million yen for protected vegetables, 3.0% and 0.5% decrease respectively over the previous year. As for agricultural expenditures, 2.64 million yen for open-field vegetables and 5.60 million yen for protected vegetables, 1.3% and 2.3% increase respectively. Consequently, agricultural income was 1.74 million yen for open-field vegetables and 3.87 million yen for protected vegetables, 8.8% and 4.3% decrease respectively over the previous year.
         [The agricultural income on business farm household was 3.58 million yen for open-field vegetables, and 5.13 million yen for protected vegetables, 5.2% and 2.9% decrease respectively over the previous year.]
  2. The agricultural gross income of fruits and nuts farmers on national average per commercial household was 4.65 million yen, up 3.5% from the previous year, and the agricultural expenditures was 2.77 million yen, up 4.8% from the previous year. Consequently, agricultural income went up to 1.88 million yen, 1.8% increase over the previous year.
         [The agricultural income per business farm household was 3.67 million yen, up 10.6% from the previous year.]

The agricultural gross income of flower farmers on national average per commercial household was 5.95 million yen for raising flowers outdoors, and 12.35 million yen for floriculture indoors, down 0.2% and up 1.1% respectively from the previous year.
The agricultural expenditures was 3.29 million yen, up 0.5% for raising flowers outdoors, and 8.72 million yen, up 3.7% for floriculture indoors from the previous year.
Consequently, the agriculture income was 2.67 million yen for raising flowers outdoors and 3.63 million yen for floriculture indoors, 1.0% and 4.5% decrease respectively from the previous year.
     [The agricultural income on business farm household was 4.44 million yen, up 5.4% for raising flowers outdoors and 5.76 million yen, down 1.3% for floriculture indoors from the previous year.]
