Festival of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries 2013
-This November, Japan is awash with news of food.-

1  Overview

The Festival of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries is a diverse series of events, mainly in the month of November, that the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries started up last year. The festival, which begins on November 1st this year, was created last year to inform a wide range of people at home and abroad about the wonderful value Japan's rural villages and agricultural, forestry, fishery and food industries have to offer, in line with the ministry's concept of "connecting producers with consumers and Japan with the world."

2 Event  Schedule

(1) General Assembly of the Japan's National Council for Export Promotion of Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Products and Processed Foods & Dinner "Oishii" to the world [November 1st , Hotel Okura Tokyo]

  ・ Minister's Award for Overseas Promotion of Japanese Food
  ・ "Oishii" to the world

A buffet-style dinner party will be held for general assembly participants, ambassadors from 134 countries stationed in Tokyo and other distinguished guests. Attendees will learn about the appeal of Japan's agricultural, forestry and fisheries products and food products as well as the Festival of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

(2) JAPAN FOOD FESTA  2013  [November 2nd - November 3rd 11:00-16:00,  Marunouchi  Naka  Ave]

Delicious Japanese dishes will be brought to all over Tokyo including the main venue in Marunouchi and Ginza, etc. Naturally, all of these dishes can be eaten from the beginning of the event through the contests and presentations. Japan Food Festa Walking Tour

The Japan Food Festa Walking Tour is a free guided tour provided in English. With multiple start times, the Walking Tour takes participants through the Japan Food Festa on Marunouchi-Nakadori and in Hibiya Park. The Japan Food Festa will be held in central Tokyo on November 2nd and 3rd. With an English-speaking guide, the Walking Tour is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in Japanese culture and enjoy excellent Japanese foods. Reservations are not required. To join in, arrive five minutes before the tour begins.
When :11:30-15:00  every half hour; tours take 30 minutes

(3) Real Oishinbo - Ultimate versus Supreme[November 3rd, 4th, 9th more, Fukuoka, Iwate, Nagano, Tokyo]

(4) RED U-35 (A chef competition designed to discover young talent)[November 4th , Under the Tokyo Designers Week dome (Jingu Gaien)]

(5) All Right Nippon! Grand Prize Awards Ceremony [November 8th, The Hibiya Library & Museum]

(6) Harvest Festival [November 8th - November 9th ,   Meiji Park]

(7) The Farmers & Kids Festa 2013 [November 9th - November 10th , Hibiya Park]

(8) TOKYO HARVEST [November 9th - November 10th , Roppongi Hills Arena]

(9) Farmer's Market Koshien 2013 Finals [November 12th - November 13th , Nakano Sun Plaza]

(10) Shoku no kizuna Summit 2013 [Date: November 15th - November 17th , Shibuya Hikarie and Tokyo Station] Charming Japanese foods, such as a variety of regional cuisines, traditional vegetables and Japanese dishes cultivated with the flavor of each region and rich with long histories will be gathered at Shibuya Hikarie. The event covers 3 days where people can enjoy seeing, hearing and knowing the depth of Japanese food, agriculture, forestry and fishery products they are familiar with on a daily basis through exhibits in the “Learning Zone” and tasting experience in the “Eating Zone.”
