The 5th World Water Forum in Istanbul

Outline : Mr. Watanabe, the secretary general of INWEPF Japanese committee, introduced the session outline and Mr. Lee Haeng Woo explained multiple functions of water management in paddy fields. "Message from the INWEPF to the 5th World Water Forum" was conveyed through them (the message file is attached（PDF：40KB）).
Dr. Yamaoka, the associate professor of the University of Tokyo, made a presentation of "Monetary Assessment on Multiple functions of Irrigation Water for Paddy Fields in Asian Monsoon region" , which is under consideration at the Working group 3 of INWEPF.

About 120 audiences participated in it, and had a vigorous exchange of views among them. The session ended on high note.
Besides, at a Panel Discussion in a session on the governance implication of adopting a multiple use approach (session 2.4.2), Dato' Mohd Azahari bin Ghazalli (INWEPF Malaysian committee) made remark on the importance of multiple functions of Agricultural water.

Additionally, in session 2.4.3 for summarizing session 2.4.1 and 2.4.2, Dr. Nakamura, the technical advisor of the Japanese Institute of Irrigation and Drainage, announced the overview of the session 2.4.1.
