Training workshop for building capacities “Risk management of contaminants in foods”

Steady supply of safe food is essential for all countries to protect the health of consumers and promote food trade.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF) has accumulated experiences in collecting occurrence data and establishing and promoting the use of codes of practice (COPs) for preventing and/or reducing contaminants in foods. MAFF has also provided occurrence data and contributed to the discussion on development of COPs in accordance with Codex working principles. MAFF wishes to help countries in Asia to improve food safety by sharing our experiences in risk management of contaminants.
