Characteristics

Cultivated in river sand, TURAJIMA GOBOU has a white skin. It has a soft texture and does not feel the fiberness. The taste is rather sweet and does not contain harshness. They are usually washed before shipping, thus, consumers are able to use it for preparation without removing the soils.

Link with the local area

TURAJIMA GOBOU is produced in the river sand from the Takasu River. The area also has an abundant underflow water for irrigation. It is the largest production area of washed burdock in Chugoku‐Shikoku region.
