Assistance Transportation for Damaged Areas by the 2011 Off the Pacific Coast Tohoku Earthquake (March 28)

Nisshin Maru, the Mother vessel for whaling research, and other vessels have started to transport assistance supplies to damaged areas from March 28 until April 7.

1. The vessels to transport assistance supplies
-Nisshin Maru (8,044ton), the Mother vessel for whaling research: Kyodo Senpaku Co., Ltd.
-Toko Maru (2,070ton), the fisheries patrol vessel: Fishery Agency, MAFF
-Hakurei Maru(490ton), the fisheries patrol vessel: Fishery Agency, MAFF
-Boat on Hokusho Maru(300ton), the fisheries research vessel: Fisheries Research Agency , Marine Fisheries Research and Development Center(JAMARC)
-Boats on Wakaba Maru No.3(349ton) and No.6(349ton), the fishing vessels: Kyokuyo Suisan Co., Ltd.

2. Assistance Supplies and Areas(March 28)
Ayukawa are in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture
(1) Kerosene oil
(2) Drinking water
(3) Foods (Cup noodles, Canned foods, Rice, Rice cakes, Milk, Udon noodles, fish sausages, etc.)
(4) Sanitary goods (Paper diaper, etc) and Clothes (Inner clothes, etc.)

Ajisima Futawatashi area in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture
(1) Kerosene oil
(2) Charcoal and Small portable stoves “Shichirin”
(3) Drinking water
(4) Foods (Cup noodles, Canned foods, Rice, Rice cakes, Milk, Udon noodls, fish sausages, etc.)
(5) Sanitary goods (Paper diaper, etc) and Clothes (inner clothes, etc.)

3. Other information
Vessels will move to Ishinomaki Port and continue to unload assistance supplies on March 29.
