Enactment of ministerial ordinance regarding a special measures of deadlines of payment period for mutual aid premiums (April 5)

The Effect of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Actions taken by Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries ~ Enactment of ministerial ordinance regarding a special measures of deadlines of payment period for mutual aid premiums on fruit insurance and field crop insurance in order to deal with the Great East Japan Earthquake~

 

For the farmers in areas damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake, ministerial ordinance will be announced on April 11, enabling the extension of payment deadline for the mutual aid premium of fruit insurance and field crop  insurance.

                                                                                     
[ Current procedures ]

Regarding to the mutual aid premiums of fruit insurance and field crop insurance,  in current procedures, one must pay the mutual aid premiums for each commodity within the period from March 15 to the beginning of June, 2011, based on the regulation of Agricultural Disaster Compensation Law.

 

[ Procedures after revision ]

Because the farmers in the areas damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake, are having difficulties to pay the mutual aid premiums within the period of the current procedures, so the enactment of  ministerial ordinance in this time made it  possible to take special measures  to decide to extend the period of payment by June 30, 2011 for the agricultural mutual reliefs which covers the area (except Tokyo) where the Disaster Relief Act was applied.
