The Damages caused by The 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake and Actions taken by Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries – Promotion of Stable Supply of Wood (log for plywood etc.)(March 28)

Summary

 Concerning the construction of temporary housing and the promotion of stable supply of wood (log for plywood etc.), Director General of Forestry Agency made a request to related organizations that forest owner’s cooperative associations and log producers provide stable log supply in order that the loss of plywood production in the damaged areas in Tohoku along the Pacific Ocean can be smoothly compensated for by plants in other areas.
In addition, Forestry Agency requested the organizations to provide information on demand and supply of log as appropriate.
