Request from MAFF to implement thoroughly the restraint on shipment of vegetables affected by the accident of the nuclear power station(April 13)

MAFF requested Fukushima Prefecture, Ibaraki Prefecture, Tochigi Prefecture, and Chiba Prefecture to implement thoroughly the restraint on shipment of vegetables by the Nuclear Emergency Response Headquarters, once again on April 13.

To Director-General of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries
of Fukushima Prefecture, Ibaraki Prefecture, Tochigi Prefecture, and Chiba Prefecture
Counselor of the Minister's Secretariat
(In charge of horticulture)
Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries

Request on instruction of thorough implementation for the shipping restraint of vegetables by the Nuclear Emergency Response Headquarters

I appreciate your understanding and cooperation with public administration of agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
Due to the accident of the nuclear power station, the Nuclear Emergency Response Headquarters has issued an instruction to restrain the shipment of some kinds of vegetables produced in Fukushima Prefecture, Tochigi Prefecture, Ibaraki Prefecture, and Chiba prefecture. As newspapers reported on April 13th, before the Nuclear Emergency Response Headquarters issued the instruction for shipment restraint, some vegetables, which are restrained from shipment by prefecture decision, were distributed at the retail level.
Hereafter, MAFF requests the prefectures once again to instruct farmers and distributors in your area to implement thoroughly the restraint on shipment of vegetables as directed by the government of Japan.
