Results of inspections on radioactivity levels in agricultural products

Test results of radioactive cesium in foods have been made public everyday by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) since March 2011.

Following tables show the summary of the test results by each category of agricultural products since April 1st, 2020 in 17 prefectures to which the Government prescribes to conduct the test※.

Specific data of each sample tested is available on the webpage of MHLW. (  https://www.mhlw.go.jp/english/topics/2011eq/

The concentration of radioactive cesium is quantified by Germanium semiconductor detectors or NaI Scintillation Detectors.

Note: As the maximum limit, 100 Bq/kg applies to General Foods, 50 Bq/kg applies to Milk and Infant foods, and 10 Bq/kg applies to Drinking water including tea infusion under the new regulation as from April 1, 2012.

※ Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, Yamagata, Fukushima, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Niigata, Yamanashi, Nagano, and Shizuoka

Test results before April 1st,2020 is available on the following webpages.
