72 Seasons
In Japan, a hawk refers generally to the northern goshawk. It is used in falconing, and among the birds of prey, it has been one that works closely with man for many years. In this season, the chicks that hatched in May and June can think of nothing but preparing to leave the nest. They learn to fly and hunt, in preparation for their foray into independence. The habitat of the northern goshawk extends throughout Japan excluding the Ryukyu Islands, and they can be found in woodland areas near populated areas. With a little luck, one might see a magnificent figure wheeling in the summer sky.
