Characteristics

Binh Thuan Dragon Fruit is sweeter and less tart than dragon fruit from other parts of Vietnam. Compared to those from Long An, the second largest dragon-fruit-producing province after Binh Thuan, average Brix is roughly 10% higher, and average total acidity is about 9% lower.

Link with the Production Area

Natural conditions in Binh Thuan--relatively low precipitation, and lean grey well-drained sandy soil--are similar to parts of South America where the dragon fruit, which is highly resistant to dry conditions but not to damp, originates from. Local soil quality is also ideal for its growth.
