Characteristics

Hakata Jidori chicken tastes delicious thanks to its high content of inosinic acid, the source of umami. The meat texture is dense, which gives it a good mouthfeel with just the right degree of resilience and satisfying bite.
The meat holds its shape well when cooked, making it ideal for mizudaki, gameni, and other local dishes of Fukuoka Prefecture.

The local area has a long history of poultry farming. Hakata Jidori chicken was developed specially for mizudaki, gameni, and other Fukuoka City-born dishes representative of Fukuoka Prefecture.
The local area is traditionally known as "Hakata," which has been added to the product name since fiscal 1988.
