ONIGIRI PROJECT

おにぎりプロジェクト画像_EN

What is the Onigiri Project?

With onigiri at the center, we will help people easily rediscover the deliciousness of rice, collaborate with a wide range of partners including companies and students, and share the appeal of rice-based meals through social media and other channels.

A special feature section will be created on the rice consumption promotion website Yappari Gohan Desho! (“RICE is the Answer!”) and will include:

    • the Traveling team ONIGIRI (team OMUSUBI) project,
    • interviews and introductions featuring people involved with onigiri
    • video content highlighting the appeal of onigiri

and more, with updates shared through X, Instagram, and Facebook.

Touring “team ONIGIRI”

Panels featuring the mascot of team ONIGIRI (team OMUSUBI) will be passed along in a baton relay among companies, organizations, schools, and others. Each company or group that receives a panel will be invited to introduce its own onigiri and share a social media message supporting rice-based meals.

Posts shared as part of this initiative will use the hashtags “#teamonigiri” and “#teamomusubi,” and the rice consumption promotion website Yappari Gohan Desho! run by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) will make it possible to view posts from the companies and other groups visited by team ONIGIRI.
