The certification system of agricultural, forestry and fishery products and food export promotion organizations
Overview of the certification system
In accordance with the Act on Facilitating the Export of Agricultural, Forestry, and Fishery Products and Food, which was amended in May 2022, the government certifies a legal entity as a "certified agricultural, forestry and fishery products and food export promotion organization" for agricultural, forestry and fishery products legal entities in which the relevant parties from production to sales cooperate to promote exports for each priority export item. Certified organizations are entitled to: the special provisions of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Credit Insurance Act, financial guarantees by the Organization of Food Marketing Structure Improvement, cooperation from the Food and Agricultural Materials Inspection Center (FAMIC), and assistance from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).

The requirements and certification criteria of applicants for this certification system are defined in the "Certification regulations for Authorized Agricultural, Forestry and Fisheries Products and Food Export Promotion organizations" (hereinafter referred to as the "Certification rules").
