Fuki-dawara (Soybean Rice wrapped in Butterbur Leaves) | Our Regional Cuisines

RECIPE
Ingredients (5~6 servings)
- Rice 2 cups
- Roasted soybeans 1/3 cup
- Salt 1/2 to 1 tsp.
- Straw 12-14 pieces
- Fuki (Butterbur) with leaves 12-14 pieces
How to cook

1. Roast the soybeans and peel them while still hot.

2. Cook rice with soybeans and a pinch of salt.

3. Make onigiri (rice balls), wrap them with fuki leaves with stems, and tie the outer layer with straw or fuki skin, creating a shape resembling a rice bale.
