Promotion of methanation of food waste

In recent years, as one approach to food waste recycling, initiatives to generate biogas (methanation) via methane fermentation and use the energy thus generated for electricity and heat have been promoted. Methanation paves the way to utilize food waste that is not particularly suitable for fertilizers and feeds.

It also spawns economic benefits for companies, given its scope to boost the most urgent areas, including food-related businesses, global warming countermeasures and waste disposal.
