Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, MAITACHI made an official visit to Vietnam (Nov.16th – Nov. 18th, 2023)

  Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Maitachi made an official visit to Vietnam from November 16th to November 18th. During his visit, he attended “The Hokkaido Festival in Ha Long” in Hạ Long City and gave a speech at “Symposium on MIDORI’(Green)s Food , Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Environment”, and he also promoted Japanese agricultural, forest, and fishery products, and met with Minister Le Minh Hoan of the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

1. The Hokkaido Festival in Ha Long

  Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Maitachi attended “The Hokkaido Festival in Ha Long”, jointly organized as part of events commemorating the 50th anniversary of Japan-Vietnam diplomatic relations. In “Symposium on MIDORI’(Green)s Food, Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, and Environment ”, he gave a keynote speech themed “Japan’s Strategy for Sustainable Food Systems (Strategy MIDORI) and Japan-Vietnam Cooperation,” which advocated further driving “The ASEAN-Japan MIDORI Cooperation Plan," which was adopted in the First ASEAN-Japan Ministers of Agriculture and Forestry Meeting (AJMAF) held in October this year. In addition, he visited the exhibit zone and promoted Japanese agricultural, forest, and fishery products in the JFOODO (Japan Food Product Overseas Promotion Center)’s booth.

2. Bilateral meeting with Minister Le Minh Hoan of the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD)

  Vice Minister Maitachi met with Minister Le Minh Hoan of the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD). He exchanged views with Minister Le Minh Hoan on further driving “The ASEAN-Japan MIDORI Cooperation Plan” and others. He also called on the minister to cooperate on expanding Japanese agricultural, forest, and fishery product exports.
