Hamonabe (Hot pot with conger pike) | Our Regional Cuisines
RECIPE
Ingredients (4 servings)
- Conger pike 1
- Onion 2 large
- Potato 1
- Dashi (=Japanese soup stock) 3 cups
- Light soy sauce 6 tbsp.
- Mirin(=sweet rice wine) 4 tbsp.
- Sake 4 tbsp.
How to cook

1. Cut the pike conger, which has already done 'Honekiri,' into pieces of 3 cm width.

2. Cut onions in half vertically and then slice into approximately 6mm widths. Cut potatoes in half vertically and then slice into approximately 1cm widths.

3. Bring dashi, light soy sauce, mirin, and sake to a boil in a pot. Add onions and potatoes, and once it comes to a boil, add pike conger. Enjoy by sipping the juice.
Optionally, sprinkle "Mitsuba(=Japanese parcely)" on top.
