The Washoku World Challenge is a Japanese cuisine competition organised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), which has been held 11 times from 2013 to 2023.The competition is aimed at foreign Japanese cooks who have a strong interest in Japanese cuisine and make daily efforts to improve their knowledge and skills. An archive website has been set up to share information from the competition. Although the Washoku World Challenge has come to an end, the Japanese Cooking Competition for Foreign Japanese Chefs will continue as a project subsidised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) as follows.
