72 Seasons

As the rice grains swell on the stems and change color, the water is drained from the paddy fields and preparation for harvest begins. It has taken about six months since the seed grains were prepared for planting. It is said the rice farmer has 88 jobs to do - a visual pun on the Chinese character for rice - and now all the farmer’s diligent work pays off as the rice turns golden brown, and the grains swaying in the wind tell of the coming of autumn.
