Bringing plants into Japan
There are plants that cannot be brought in and plants that require a phytosanitary certificate.
Legal penalties may apply if you bring them in illegally.
If you import plants without a phytosanitary certificate or importing without import inspection, you may be subject to up to 3 years' imprisonment or a fine of up to 3 million yen.

If you bring in plants that do not meet the requirements of your destination country, it could have a major impact on the country's agriculture.
Plant quarantine prevents the invasion and spread of harmful pests from overseas.

Familiar items may be banned from import
Many people are not familiar with plant quarantine and think it has nothing to do with them. However, pests are lurking extensively, and your plants may also be banned from import.
