第2回日加農業食料政府間協力対話の結果概要について

令和6年11月21日（木曜日）、東京において、「第2回日加農業食料政府間対話」を開催し、農林水産省（MAFF）とカナダ農業・農産食料省（AAFC）の代表が出席し、両国の農業及び食料政策について議論しました。

3.結果概要（日本語）

• 両国は、農水産物の強固な二国間農業関係を再確認するとともに、食料安全保障政策、持続可能性や技術・イノベーションに関連する農業政策など、貿易・投資以外の協力関係を深めるための様々なテーマについて発表し、意見交換を行いました。
• 議論は前向きなものとなり、日加双方は食料・農業分野での更なる協力に向けた取組を継続することを確認しました。
• 両国は、日加間の安定的な食料サプライチェーンの重要性について一致し、この目的のため、日加間の「コミュニケーション・フレームワーク」を設立し、農林水産省とカナダ農業・農産食料省との間で、不測の事態に効率的な情報共有を行えるよう合意しました。
• 両国は、次回会合は来年カナダで開催することで一致しました。

CANADA-JAPAN 2^nd meeting of the Governmental Cooperation Dialogue of Agriculture and Food

The second meeting of the Canada-Japan Agriculture Dialogue (CJAD) took place on November 21, 2024, in Tokyo with representatives from Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) and the Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) in attendance. 

Participants from both sides reaffirmed the strong bilateral agricultural relationship, with significant two-way trade in agriculture and seafood products. Both sides presented and exchanged views on a variety of topics to deepen collaboration beyond trade and investment, including food security policy, and agricultural policy related to sustainability, technology, and innovation.

The discussions were positive with both Canada and Japan confirming to continue working towards further cooperation in the field of food and agriculture.

The two sides agreed on the importance of a stable food supply chain between Canada and Japan. To this end, Canada and Japan agreed to establish a “communications framework” between Canada and Japan, which would streamline information sharing between AAFC and MAFF in unforeseen situations.

It was decided that Canada will host the third CJAD in 2025.
